UPDATE: Several teens arrested after rash of thefts from vehicles

UPDATED Tuesday September 10, 2013 --- 11:04 a.m.

Dane Co. Deputies and officers from the Sun Prairie and Cottage Grove Police departments have arrested several teens as they investigate vehicle break-ins over the summer.

Deputies took two men into custody Monday. Three others will be charged later.

Dylan Trumpy and Akira (Yoshi) Yang, both 17, are currently being held in the Dane County Jail on several counts of Theft, Party to a Crime.

Yang is also facing one count of Burglary, Party to a Crime.

One 18-year-old male and two 16-year-old females, who are cooperating with law enforcement, are expected to be charged at a later date in connection to the crimes.

Everyone involved is from Sun Prairie.

All of the stolen property was sold and was unable to be recovered.

Dane Co. deputies are reminding residents to lock their cars after a rash of thefts from vehicles in the northeastern part of the county.

This Tuesday, deputies working in the Town of Burke took four theft calls in one morning.

Over the past two weeks, several thefts from vehicles were reported in Bristol.

In each incident, thieves stole small electronics and cash after entering through an unlocked car door.
