CrimeTracker 15: DeForest Police Investigate Over 35 Vehicles Damaged

Posted Wednesday, March 7, 2012 --- 4:30 a.m.

From the DeForest Police Department:

DeForest police have arrested three DeForest men for numerous counts of Criminal Damage to Property that occurred during the early morning hours of March 6th.

At approximately 2:05 a.m, officers made contact with a subject walking on Acker Parkway who had fresh cuts to his hands and was bleeding. While speaking to him, another officer observed a subject several hundred feet away crouch next to a vehicle in the driveway. Contact was made and the vehicle was found to be losing air from a tire that was recently slashed. That subject, Conrad Rauwolf, age 18, denied any criminal activity. He was cited for Criminal Damage to property and released. A search of Rauwolf yielded a bloody knife.

Reports of damaged vehicles began coming in where vehicles had their tires slashed as well as paint being gouged with a sharp object.

Over 35 separate incidents of damage were then reported over the next several hours totaling over $5500 in destroyed tires and other damage. Other damage included smashed mailboxes and an American flag.

DeForest police later arrested Rauwolf, along with Mitchell Spurgat, 18, and Robert Downs, 19 and have charged all with nearly three dozen counts of felony Criminal Damage to Property. Spurgat admitted to cutting his hands while slicing tires with the recovered knife. The case has been referred to the Dane County District Attorney’s Office for charges.

DeForest police request that any victims of damage that have not reported it to police, to do so.

I think each and every victim of the "bored kids" needs to go after them to the full extent of the law. The kids need to get off their duffs and become productive members of society. Time for some very tough love. The victims should also get to damage something of these kids.

They need to make these young men go to every victim and personally apoligize. At least.

And these kids have done other things in the past and we just could not prove it. They have destroyed windows and fences and damaged vehicles in the neigborhood. At least they will get charged for these crimes.

The officers at the DeForest Police Department profile, discriminate if you are a teen, a different race or have a disability you might as well walk around with a target on your forehead.

The police should figure out who Janay is and make sure they never get the help they might need. Deforest has some of the best officers in the state. Props to everything they do.

IF Defo PD has some of the best officers in the state it also has SOME of the worst "such as ones that beat their wife". Aside from that deforest is a town where you can walk from point a to point b any time of night and not have to worry about getting mugged or stabbed. That is one thing you can thank the PD for here.

And if they hadn't been caught red handed (literally) this would be just another unsolved crime that no one knew about except the victims.

At least one of these kids is being and has been treated with tough love. His parents put him in rehab but he chose to self medicate rather than take legal medication for his ailment. Result, a good kid gone bad of his own choosing.
