Green County Deputies Investigating Daytime Burglaries

Posted Friday, May 25, 2012 --- 7:30 a.m.

From the Green County Sheriff's Department:

The Green County Sheriff's Department is investigating three daytime burglaries reported this week and asking that residents report any suspicious vehicles or persons.

On Monday, May 21, 2012, a burglary was reported to have occurred at a residence on Apple Grove Rd. east of CTH A in Adams Township.

On Wednesday, May 23, 2012, burglaries were reported to have occurred at homes located on Melvin Rd. east of STH 69 in Clarno Township and on Iliff Rd. in Monroe Township.

All burglaries occurred while the occupants were gone to work during the day.

Jewelry, coins, safes and cash were taken from the homes.

All had similar characteristics and detectives are working on the theory that the same person or persons are responsible for all three burglaries.

The community does not appear to be at risk as the suspects enter homes where nobody is home and will very likely leave if they know anyone is there.

The Sheriff's Department is requesting that if any resident observes a vehicle or persons acting suspiciously, to immediately call the communications center at (608)328-9400 and select option '0' and report your observations.
