UPDATE: Beloit police continue to investigate series of crimes

UPDATED Monday, April 28 2014 ---- 6 p.m.

Two homicides in one day and now a hit and run accident have investigators in Beloit working around the clock to try to find who's responsible.

Neighbors in the area of Eighth and Highland have made a memorial of flowers, cards and balloons for 20-year-old Raymond Holloway, who was shot Friday afternoon and later died at a nearby hospital.
This was the second homicide in just one day. According to authorities, police were nearby and heard multiple gun shots; and when arriving on scene reported seeing a vehicle leaving. Neighbors and friends of Raymond hoping that whoever is responsible for the crime comes forward. "I want to feel safe but then again you don't know. Now I have to watch when the weather gets better and I come out with my grandchildren because you never know," said neighbor Dawn Hall. This incident happened just hours after another homicide, when a man was found lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. The man has been identified as 36-year-old Edward Damont Haley of Beloit. He died shortly after being transported to the hospital.

Authorities in Beloit are also investigating a hit and run accident that happened Sunday night, when a pedestrian was hit by a dark blue compact car on Portland in between Third and Forth Streets.

We spoke with detectives and they are not releasing any other information right now but do say these are still very active and open investigations and still don't know if the incidents are connected in any way. If you have any information, you're asked to call the Beloit Police Department at (608) 757-2244.
