Release from Janesville Police Department:
On 10-13-11 and 10-14-11 from 10 AM to 6 PM the Janesville Police Department in cooperation with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Janesville Probation/Parole, and Milwaukee HIDTA, ran a highway interdiction effort. This effort was focused on highway safety and the interdiction of illegal drugs being transported into the City of Janesville. Hwy 51/Center Ave between State Highway 11 bypass and the five points' intersection was the primary focus of the interdiction efforts.
The operation resulted in 98 traffic violation stops where 158 warnings and 58 traffic citations were issued. During these stops 7 felony , 28 misdemeanor, and 5 warrant arrests were made. Also 16 subjects on probation through the Department of Corrections were contacted. During the operation officers seized over 800 grams of marijuana, cocaine, money and drug paraphernaila.
Two People Arrested Were:
Suspect #1 Rodney M. Williams, M/B 05-21-83, from Madison,WI for Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana (795 grams)
Suspect #2 Christopher Lee Markin M/W 11-17-86, from Beloit,WI for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana,Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Probation Hold
