Details:
On 10/24/2012 at 5:15pm, a Madison Police Officer and JBM Patrol & Protection Corporation were working an assignment in the Straubel/Truax Neighborhood.
The focus has continually been directed at improving the quality of life for all residents, and providing a level of security that all community members should expect.
Information had been passed along to officers that Edlando M. Watson had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest, and there had been previous unsuccessful attempts to locate him in and around the property. While the officer was running Watson’s name to determine whether a warrant existed, Watson suddenly appeared. Officers contacted Watson, and when the question of whether or not he was in possession of weapon(s) was posed, Watson frantically ran from authorities.
Watson was closely pursued by the JBM Officer and police to a residence near Wright Street & Anderson Street. The JBM Officer threatened to use a Taser to gain compliance of Watson, who was taken into custody for charges listed. Police promptly locate a loaded 357 Magnum a short distance away from Watson, and a host of drugs including Cocaine, Marijuana, and Heroin. This was a collaborative effort that resulted in an arrest that took both a gun and drugs off of the street.
