Madison Man Scares Intruder From Home

Incident Report from the Madison Police Department:

Incident Type: Residential Burglary

Incident Date: 02/19/2013 - 1:22 AM

Address: 900 block Lorena Pkwy

Suspect(s): Male, average height, 200 to 225 pounds, wearing a gray and white hat, dark coat with hood and jeans.

Victim: Male, age 39, Madison

Details: A 39-year old Madison man was home, and awake early this morning when he heard his unlocked front door open. He yelled out, "Hello?" The intruder - described above - fled. The homeowner pursued him outside for a short distance, and soon realized someone had also rifled through the center console of his unlocked SUV, which was parked outside of his residence.

Officers followed tracks in the snow, but were unable to find a suspect. The victim said he had not locked his front door since he had not yet gone to bed. The MPD does advise residents to keep vehicles and residences locked at all times.
