Madison Police are asking the Dane Co. District Attorney to charge a 40-year-old Reedsburg man in connection to a couple of recent bank robberies in the city.
Officers say a K-9 found evidence following the February 21st robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank on East Towne Blvd.
That evidence helped detectives identify Chad Legner as a suspect.
Along with the Feb. 21st robbery, officers say Legner has been connected to the Feb. 3rd robbery of a U.S. Bank (also on East Towne Blvd.)
Legner was taken into custody on a Sauk Co. probation warrant on Feb. 21st. Right now he is in the Sauk Co. Jail.
Detectives say a heroin addiction was a motivating factor in the robberies.
Along with the evidence found by the K9, tips from the community also helped identify the suspect.
