Madison man arrested after rash of break-ins at oil change businesses

Madison Police have arrested a man on five counts of burglary following a rash of break-ins at west side oil change businesses.

Madison Police have arrested a man on five counts of burglary following a rash of break-ins at west side oil change businesses.

20-year-old Jacob Capps is accused in the following break-ins:

-A burglary at Super Lube, 5632 Odana Rd. was reported on October 8th.
-A burglary at Jiffy Lube, 15 Junction Ct., was reported on October 13th.
-A burglary at Super Lube, 5632 Odana Rd., was also reported on October 13th.
-A burglary at Instant Oil Change, 732 S. Gammon Rd., was reported on October 19th.
-A burglary at Super Lube, 5632 Odana Rd., was reported on October 25th.

In all cases, a window was broken to gain entry. In most cases cash was taken. Surveillance videos and pawn shop photos helped police tie Capps to the crime spree.

Capps faces tentative burglary charges, along with several counts of criminal damage to property and bail jumping.

He was previously arrested for a residential burglary this past September.
