UPDATED Wednesday, January 1, 2014 --- 6:08 p.m.
The Dane Co. Sheriff's Department made six OWI arrests New Year's Eve and New Year's morning. All drivers had prior drunken driving convictions.
Deputies provided the following information about each arrest:
----Fifty-two year old Ronald Essie (pictured), of Madison, was arrested by a deputy for OWI 6th, Eluding and Possession of Cocaine after he was observed driving all over the road on I-39 in the township of Windsor. Essie refused to submit to a blood test to determine the level of alcohol in his system, so the deputy obtained a search warrant for his blood from the Dane County Duty Judge. Essie was eventually booked into the Dane County Jail.
---Thirty-eight year old Adrian Duel, of Cross Plains, was arrested by a deputy for OWI 3rd and a probation hold. Originally, a passerby discovered Duel passed out in his vehicle on Carya Road, just off USH 14, in the township of Berry. Duel drove away before deputies arrived, however he was soon located, arrested, and booked into the Dane County Jail after he submitted to a blood test.
---Forty-nine year old Tim Hasey, of Cottage Grove, was arrested by a deputy for OWI 3rd after he crashed his vehicle into a snowbank at exit 108 on northbound USH 151 at CTH V V in the township of York. Hasey refused to submit to a blood test, and a search warrant for his blood was also obtained by the deputy from the Dane County Duty Judge. Hasey was eventually booked into the Dane County Jail on a 12-hour hold.
---Nineteen year old Dustin Stampfli-Rowin, of Deerfield, was arrested by a deputy for OWI 2nd after the vehicle he was driving slid into the ditch on Oak Park Road in the township of Deerfield. Stampfli-Rowin was also charged with 4 counts of misdemeanor Bail Jumping and he was eventually booked into the Dane County Jail on a 12-hour hold.
---Forty-seven year old James Dahmen, of Cross Plains, was arrested by a deputy for OWI 4th after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a utility pole on Thinnes Street in the village of Cross Plains. After he consented to a blood draw, Dahmen was released to a responsible and sober adult. Dahmen was also issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control of his Vehicle.
---The final OWI arrest of the evening for the Dane County Sheriff’s Office was twenty-two year old Aaron Stephenson, of Sun Prairie. Stephenson was found passed out in his vehicle in the parking lot of the McDonald’s located at 4020 Milwaukee Street in the township of Blooming Grove. After refusing a blood test, the deputy obtained a search warrant for Stephson’s blood from the Dane County Duty Judge. In addition to being charged with OWI 3rd, Stephenson also received citations for Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle and Operating After Revocation. Stephenson was ultimately booked into the Dane County Jail on a 12-hour hold.

Dane Co. deputies arrested a Madison man Tuesday for his alleged 6th offense OWI.
A driver was reportedly weaving in and out of his lane on I-39 near Highway 51 in the Town of Windsor.
Deputies made the traffic stop and took 52-year-old Ronald Essie into custody.
