Madison man scared away probable burglar by saying he had a gun

Madison Police say a Golf Course Road resident scared away a probable burglar by saying he had a gun.

The 76-year-old man woke up early Saturday morning after hearing a noise.

He got up to check things out and found an open window, with a man outside of it.

The resident told the man he had a gun, that he would shoot him and he better get out of there.

The man took off.

Police describe the probable burglar as: Male, white, 20-25 years old, 5'9", 160 pounds, short dark hair, wearing a white t-shirt.
