Madison Police say a 26-year-old man showed up at a hospital Monday morning with minor stab wounds to an arm and leg.

He reportedly told officers he was injured during a fight in the 600 block of State St. just before 2:00 that morning.

The victim said he got in a dispute with a man he had befriended and drank with that night. The other man allegedly pulled a knife and began swinging it. The victim did not believe his wounds were serious and did not call police at the time.

An uninvolved witness did call officers around the time of the fight. While they saw the disturbance, they did not see anyone get stabbed and didn't realize there was a man armed with a knife. Police found the knife in the street and chased down a 28-year-old man who allegedly dropped it.

The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed and resisting arrest.
