Madison man tells police he was pistol whipped and robbed

A 30-year-old Madison man told police he was pistol whipped and robbed after giving someone a ride home early Friday morning.

The victim told officers he had seen the suspect before but does not know him well. The victim was giving the suspect a ride home from a west side bar.

The victim said the man pulled out a gun as they were traveling in the 2200 block of Carling Drive. The robber took jewelry, a cell phone and some CDs.

The crime happened around 2:00 a.m.
