Details:
On February 8th, 2012 at approximately 9:00pm, The Community Policing Team (East District) was conducting drug surveillance in and around the 2800 block of Dahle Street, and noticed activity that was strongly suggestive of drug involvement.
When officers approached a black Hyundai Elantra that was parked alongside the street, all parties became frantic.
The suspicion by officers was that the occupants were attempting to conceal drugs that they were in possession of at the time. Officers immediately gave stern commands to all parties, removed them from the vehicle, and requested a K-9 arrive on scene for drug detection purposes. The K-9 arrived, and a cursory sniff for drugs unveiled Cocaine, Heroin, and miscellaneous paraphernalia related to the drugs found.
Matthew Lecher was taken into custody on charges of possession of Cocaine and Heroin, and he proved to be the primary focus of the investigation.
