Incident Report from the Madison Police Department:

Incident Type: Battery

Incident Date: 02/05/2013 - 3:34 PM

Address: 2301 East Springs Dr. (Pawn America)

Arrested: Alfonzo L. Money, age 19, Fitchburg
Mr. Money was arrested for Battery, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting/Obstructing and Bail Jumping - 2 counts.

Victim: Male, age 58

Details: A 58-year old pawn shop employee was punched, knocked to the ground, and kicked after he refused to buy a flat screen TV from a 19-year old Fitchburg man who did not have the proper paperwork. The would-be seller became irate and boisterous at the failed business transaction.

The employee told him to leave the store because of the disturbance being caused by the raucous outbursts. That was when the victim was attacked. The initial blow sent his glasses flying across Pawn America's lobby. Police were called, and an officer happened to be nearby.

A 911 communicator told the officer that a store employee was tailing the suspect, and that both were now jogging across another store's parking lot. The officer spotted the suspect; the suspect spotted the officer. The teen took off in a sprint, but lost the foot chase. He was arrested at gunpoint on tentative charges listed above. Colleagues of the suspect departed with the TV prior to the arrival of police.
