From the Monroe Police Department:
On October 3, 2012, at about 8:30 p.m., Monroe Police were called to the Monroe Clinic Hospital Emergency Room to investigate a report of a person who had allegedly been assaulted near the Monroe High School on Monroe's far south side.
A 17-year-old Monroe male reported that about 4:45 p.m., he had been punched by a muscular man, wearing a black t-shirt and a black ski mask. He reportedly jumped out of a black SUV, believed to be a Chevrolet Tahoe.
Immediately after punching the victim, the suspect left in the vehicle.
The victim said that he had not reported this until he had met up with a friend in another location a few hours later.
The friend also had been allegedly assaulted in a separate incident.
The two decided they should both be medically checked out.
Officers then talked to the friend, who was also being seen in the emergency room.
The second victim, a 20-year-old Argyle male, reported that he had been punched by a man wearing a black hoodie, black ski mask, black gloves with red fingertips. He was allegedly riding a bicycle.
This assault reportedly took place near Lincoln Park, on Monroe's near south side in the late afternoon. Immediately after punching the victim, the suspect left on the bicycle.
Neither victim received other than minor injuries.
Police are investigating to see if the two incidents may be related. Anyone who may have witnessed either of these incidents is asked to call the Monroe Police Department at (608) 329-2400.
