BELOIT, Wis. (AP) -- One man is dead and another is wounded in a shooting in Beloit.
Police say they received a report about shots fired shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday. When officers responded they found a 25-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. Police say Jeffrey Hardnett was pronounced dead at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
The Beloit Daily News (http://bit.ly/1qXBJL3 ) reports a 26-year-old Beloit man, Darius Kilgore, had suffered a single gunshot wound to the upper chest or shoulder area and was treated at Beloit Memorial. Police say he was arrested on probation violation and a drug possession warrant following his release from the hospital.

City of Beloit police officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired on the 1400 block of Hull Avenue just before 1 a.m. Thursday morning. Officers on the scene located evidence in the roadway that included multiple shell casings.
26 year old Darius Kilgore of Beloit was transported to Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the upper chest. Kilgore was arrested upon his release on an outstanding warrant.
A second man, 25 year old Jeffrey Hardnett of Beloit was also taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
