Police have arrested a Madison woman after she allegedly shot heroin and went unconscious behind the wheel.
Officers say Marci Moore was driving on a busy Fish Hatchery Rd. Tuesday morning when it happened.
Witnesses told police she crossed all four lanes of traffic, narrowly missing other cars, before jumping a curb and nearly going into Wingra Creek.
She was arrested for her 5th offense of driving under the influence.
Moore reportedly told police she knows she has a problem, but has no insurance and has been unable to kick the heroin habit on her own.
Almost every week officers and paramedics are responding to heroin overdoses in the Madison area. Police say the epidemic has shown no signs of subsiding.
