Police: Madison woman fends off robbers at bus stop

Madison Police say a woman was able to hold onto her purse after two men pushed her to the ground and tried to take it.

The 57-year-old woman tells police she was waiting for a bus at the Northport Dr. stop near Troy Dr. Sunday around 11:30 a.m.

She says two men pushed her hard to the ground, and one tried to rob her. There was a struggle for her purse but the men ran off empty-handed.

Police describe the men as:

1. Male, black, mid to late 20's, 6', short hair.

2. Male, possibly Hispanic, 5'10
