Madison Police arrested a man Wednesday afternoon following a crash. Responding officers arrived to find the man still revving his car at high speeds, apparently trying to drive through the other vehicle involved.

The crash happened just before 2:00 p.m. in a parking lot in the 200 block of Junction Rd.

The officers arrived and found white smoke rising from the scene. The driver of one car was still revving its engine, so much that the rubber was shredded off the tires.

Police say the victim in the other car realized that if she moved her vehicle as the driver revved so hard, he could take off uncontrollably and hit other cars or pedestrians.

Officers identify the driver in the revving vehicle as 29-year-old Ryan McGuire. Police say McGuire did not comply when officers told him to shut down his vehicle. He was forced out and taken into custody.

McGuire was arrested for OWI, reckless endangering and resisting.
