1 injured after shooting on Madison's south side

Updated Tuesday, May 6, 2014 --- 5:08 a.m.

Madison Police are searching for a suspect after a shooting on the city's south side.

The shooting happened just before 10:00 p.m. Monday night on the 1800 block of Fisher Street.

Police say when they arrived a male victim had a gunshot wound to his upper arm. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was released.

The suspect in the shooting is described as an African American male in his 20s. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and possible has dreadlocks.

Police say there is no danger to the public.

Madison Police say around 10:00 p.m. they got a call about a shooting on the 1800 block of Fisher Street.

They tell us one person has been shot, but have not said anything about the extent of the victim's injuries.

It remains a very active scene as police say they're searching for the shooter.
