UPDATE: Prisoner that escaped from Beloit Police Department back in custody

UPDATED Monday, November 25, 2013 --- 1:31 p.m.

Beloit Police say a prisoner that escaped from the Beloit Police Department last week is back in custody.

Police say Michael Kane ran away from the Police Department after being arrested last Thursday.

Officers arrested Kane again around noon Monday.

A citizen tipped officers off about Kane's location, leading to his arrest.

Kane was taken into custody in the 1200 block of Tenth St.

He was arrested on a probation violation, and now on new charges of felony escape and theft.

Beloit Police are looking for a prisoner that escaped from the Police Department Thursday afternoon.

Police took 40-year-old Michael Kane into custody Thursday at 3:40 p.m. on a probation violation.

Kane was in handcuffs. While he was in the garage area of the Beloit Police Department, he ran away on foot.

Police are looking for Kane for a probation violation, felony escape and theft.

His criminal history involves property crime and illegal narcotics.

Kane is 5’10” tall, weighing 170 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes. Kane was wearing blue jeans and a camouflage jacket.
