Release from Janesville Police Department:
On 10/26/2011 at 2:20 p.m. members of the Janesville Police Department Patrol Division, Street Crimes Unit, and Detective Bureau responded to the area of 801 Thomas St for a report of an armed subject with a long gun. The suspect was last seen running behind apartment complexes in the 800 block of Harding Street. The suspect was believed to have entered the apartment complex at 830 Harding Street.
The 830 Harding Street apartment complex was thoroughly searched with no find of the suspect. On continued investigation officers did locate and recover all guns in question. At this point a person of interest, who is a juvenile, has been identified and the investigation is on-going. There is no reason for a public safety concern.
