Rock County Deputies have arrested a man in an animal mistreatment case.
Deputies were called to 8816 East Rye Drive in the Town of Bradford on April 19th. Someone had spotted a horse lying on its side in a barn. Davy, a full-grown Friesian stallion, was said to be “skin and bones”.
The owner, 70-year-old Jack Tuls, euthanized Davy at the recommendation of a veterinarian. Davy was said to be too severely malnourished for medical intervention.
Deputies arrested Tuls for felony mistreatment of an animal on April 30th.
Authorities will continue to look after the welfare of the remaining animals on Tul's property.
