Madison, WI. October 1, 2012 – The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rash of residential daytime burglaries reported in the western part of the county between September 25th and September 28th.
A total of eight burglaries were reported over the three-day period; five in the town of Middleton and three in the town of Montrose. While some homes were accessed through unlocked doors, others were forced entries. The thieves stole items such as cash, jewelry, electronics, and guns.
Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to call the Dane County tip line at (608) 284-6900. The Sheriff’s Office also reminds citizens to lock homes and garages, and secure valuables inside the home. Be aware of the comings and goings in your neighborhood and report anything that appears suspicious immediately.
