Shots fired near Denny's in Madison; one man arrested

According to the Madison Police Department, a 20-year-old man has been arrested following a shooting outside of a Denny's restaurant on Thierer Rd. Sunday morning.

According to a release, police responded to the parking lot of the Denny's restaurant at 1798 Thierer Rd. after receiving a report that shots had been fired at 3:49 a.m.

Police say it appears a disturbance broke out in the parking lot followed by shots being fired.

Two vehicles that left the scene were stopped by officers and several individuals were contacted, according to the release.

Blood and shell casings were located at the scene, but no victims have been contacted.

Jamal Greer was arrested for obstructing an officer after providing them with a false name. Greer taken to the Dane County Jail.
