Shots Fired On Madison's South Side

black male, dreadlocks, wearing black shirt and black pants

Details:
Officers responded to Penn Park reference shots fired.

Witness reported seeing two groups begin to fight and then a suspect firing a handgun.

Involved subjects all fled prior to MPD arrival.

Officers did not locate any victims or indications that anyone had been injured.

Officers did locate several impact points to a nearby apartment building. No one in the apartment building was injured.

Investigation continuing.

Madison police officials say they responded to a report of shots fired around Friday night on the city's south side. It happened around 8:15 p.m. in Madison's Penn Park, which is near the intersection of South Park Street and the Beltline.

A caller told police one person fired multiple shots following an argument between two groups of people in the park. When police arrived there was no sign of blood and there was no one at the scene.

Police are still investigating the incident.
