Shots Fired in Janesville

From the Janesville Police Department:

On 03-18-2012 at 11:05 p.m. Janesville officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired from an apartment at the Lexington Town Homes complex at 2633 N. Lexington. Witnesses reported that after hearing a single gunshot, they saw both the male and female residents leaving the apartment. When officers arrived on scene, residents reported seeing the male resident running through the complex courtyard. After a brief foot pursuit officers took the male into custody and transported him to the police department. The male was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.

Officers confirmed that a single shot was fired from within the apartment through the south door. No victims of a gunshot wound have been located. Police department officials have not determined who fired the shot. The investigation is continuing.
