Madison Police say that officers recovered a stolen $13,000 bracelet in a sting operation.

Police say the bracelet was taken from a West Towne Mall jewelry store in January. It showed up on Craiglist, where a seller was trying to unload it for $3,100.

A West District Community Police Team member posting as a buyer arranged to meet the seller in a parking lot near Verona Rd. After a signal, other officers moved in and arrested the seller.

The seller, 40-year-old Montolen Long, told police he had bought the bracelet from someone else. He was arrested for receiving stolen property.
