Incident Date: 02/23/2013 - 1:20 AM
Address: 2000 block Scott Lane

Victim: Male cab driver, age 40
Details: A taxi driver contacted Madison Police after his cab's windshield was shot with a BB early Saturday morning. The victim was on the job, in the 2000 block of Scott Lane, with fares on board, and after hearing the sharp sound of the BB, looked up to see a young teen, standing on a small balcony, holding what appeared to be a rifle. Officers responded and found a 13-year old boy and a 12-year old boy. They had a BB rifle and an Airsoft pistol. The victim identified the 13-year old as the shooter of his cab. However, the teen said “I never shot it. I was raised right. I know not to lie to the police." The 12-year old admitted both he and his friend had been firing the BB rifle from the balcony and that he told the 13-year old to shoot the cab, which he says the 13-year old did. For his honesty, the 12-year old got received a stern warning from police, while the 13-year old received several citations.
