A judge has sentenced a Tomah man to 20 months in federal prison for pharmacy robbery.
35-year-old Jesse Kirk pleaded guilty to the charge on October 3rd.
Kirk reportedly admitted to robbing four Madison-area pharmacies over a 10-day period in April of 2013. He stole various types of controlled substances, including Oxycontin.
The judge said that while the robberies were driven by Kirk's drug addiction, time in prison was warranted because Kirk also threatened pharmacy staff. He apparently told staff “You have two minutes or you are going to get hurt” during one robbery.
Kirk was also ordered to pay $8,154.82 of restitution to the pharmacies.
