Two People Arrested During Drug Investigation In Columbia County

From the Columbia County Sheriff's Office:

On October 17, 2012 the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force concluded a drug investigation leading to the arrest of Rainelle and Rodney Cheever.

Rodney Cheever was identified as a Heroin Source who was providing Heroin to individuals in and around Portage.

During the arrest and subsequent search of the Cheever’s, law enforcement found heroin, a hand gun, and drug paraphernalia.

Rainelle M. Cheever, age 27 of Portage was charged with Felony Possession of Heroin, Felony Delivery of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Felony Bail Jumping.

Rodney E. Cheever, age 29 of Portage was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felony Possession of a weapon, Drugged Driving while under the influence of heroin, Felony Delivery of Heroin, and Felony Bail Jumping.

Both Rainelle and Rodney were also referred for Child Neglect charges as they had their infant child with them in the vehicle during the delivery of heroin and while driving while under the influence.

Rainelle M. Cheever and Rodney E. Cheever were both out on felony bond for multiple previous heroin delivery charges. Rodney and Rainelle Cheever are in the Columbia County Jail and will make their initial appearance in Columbia County Circuit Court on October19, 2012.
