UPDATE: A Janesville man accused of jumping into someone else

UPDATED Friday, December 27, 2013 --- 5:36 a.m.

JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- A Janesville man accused of jumping into someone else's group photo at a club and sparking a fight that resulted in a shooting is due in court.

Thamar K. Harper is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide. The 29-year-old has an initial appearance scheduled for Friday afternoon.

Prosecutors say a 23-year-old man was trying to take a group photo last weekend when Harper jumped into the frame. The criminal complaint says Harper and the group began fighting, and security asked them to leave.

The complaint says Harper followed three of the men back to their cars, and then fired a gun into the car where the victim was seated. The victim was shot about six times and injured.

A call to Harper's public defender late Thursday rang unanswered.

BELOIT, Wis. (AP) -- The Rock County district attorney's office says a photobombing led to a shooting that left a 23-year-old injured.

Twenty-nine-year-old Thamar Harper was charged Monday first-degree attempted homicide in connection with the shooting of 23-year-old Marcus McKinnis the day before in the Eagles Club parking lot in Beloit.

According to a criminal complaint, McKinnis and some people were attempting to take a group picture when the suspect jumped into the frame.

The complaint says Harper and the group start fighting and security asked them to leave.

Harper then allegedly followed McKinnis and at least two other men to their cars.

McKinnis is being treated at a Madison hospital. Another person was also shot but was released at the scene.

Harper is due in court Friday.

Beloit Police have made an arrest in an early morning shooting that injured two.

Thamar K. Harper, 29, Janesville, was arrest for for First-Degree Attempted Homicide, and is being held at the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday responding officers from the Beloit Police Department were in the municipal parking lot at 325 Broad St. when they heard several gunshots at 1:41 a.m. Two victims in their 20s were found.

Those responding officers were on scene investigating this incident, when several witnesses reported that the shooting suspect was fleeing on foot in the parking lot.

According to a release, officers located the suspect at the scene and took him into custody without incident.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Beloit Police Department.

According to police, two men were found shot in a Beloit parking lot early Sunday.

Officers were in the municipal parking lot at 325 Broad St. when they heard several gunshots at 1:41 a.m. Two victims in their 20s were found. Both men are from Beloit, officials said.

One of the men was released with non-life-threatening injuries and the other was taken to a local hospital, according to police.

The Beloit Police Department is investigating the shooting.
