Madison Police say witness' descriptions of a woman's unique hairstyle helped officers track down a pair of women accused of retail theft.

An Old Navy loss prevention officer tried to stop two thieves as they left the East Springs Dr. store with a “bulging” purse full of stolen clothes Wednesday. One woman reportedly laughed at the employee as they sped away.

Police say the suspects then hit again, stealing $270 worth of fake hair from Sally Beauty Supply on S. Whitney Way.

They fled again, but the suspect vehicle was spotted outside the Westgate T.J. Maxx.

Officers say it wasn't hard to find the suspects from there. Prior victims said one woman had a very distinct hairstyle: shaved on three sides with the rest dyed different colors - neon green, pink, orange, and black.

Witnesses also said the same woman had a "very long, face-length curl that covers the left side of her face.”

Ronda Alexander and Shatanae Mims were found in the store and arrested on three counts of retail theft.
