Madison Police say an armed robbery reported on the UW-Madison campus Tuesday that prompted a WiscAlert did not happen.
Detectives conducted interviews, questioning the 21-year-old man who said he was robbed that morning on N. Charter St.
Officers say it became apparent the robbery did not occur.

Madison Police are releasing more information after an armed robbery on the UW-Madison campus.
It happened around 8:52 a.m. Tuesday.
A 21-year-old man was walking on N. Charter St. when he was approached by a stranger.
The stranger displayed a handgun and took the man's money. He then ran away on foot toward Regent St.
Madison Police provided this description of the robber: Male, Hispanic, 5'9", black hair worn "fade" style, no facial hair, wearing a red hoodie, jeans and carrying a dark jacket.
UPDATED Tuesday, October 22, 2013 --- 9:50 a.m.
According to UW-Madison, police have finished searching the area where an armed robbery took place on campus Tuesday morning, and the suspect is still at large.
The robbery took place just before 9:00 a.m. near Charter and Spring St.
Madison and UW Police will continue to investigate.

The crime took place just before 9:00 a.m.
A suspect with a gun was last seen on the Southwest Commuter Bike Path near Spring St.
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 5'11", wearing a red hoodie, jeans, and black jacket.
UWPD urges people to use caution in the area and report suspicious activity or anyone matching the description by calling 911.
