Woman Arrested; Accused Of Stealing 80-Year-Old Man's Wallet

Lakisha L. Thomas, age 30, Cottage Grove
Ms. Thomas was arrested for Burglary and Resisting/Obstructing. The case is still under investigation and a tentative charge of Strong-Armed Robbery is possible.

Male, age 80, Madison

A woman came to an 80-year-old man's door on Camden Rd. Saturday afternoon asking to use the bathroom.

When he turned down her request, she pushed her way in.

Once inside she took the victim's wallet and ran.

Some of the victim's family was returning as she was fleeing and they were able to provide police with a description of her, the van she got into, as well as its license plate.

The getaway vehicle was located a short time later in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on Milwaukee St. The suspect was inside the restaurant, and initially denied any wrongdoing. She later turned over the wallet and some of the stolen cash which she had concealed in her bra.
