Woman robbed at gunpoint near campus

Police are looking for a suspect after a woman was robbed at gunpoint at a road near campus.

Police say the incident happened around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Mills Street.

According to police, the victim was walking down Mills when a man approached her from behind and demanded her belongings. When the victim turned around, she saw the man had a handgun.

The victim was not injured.

The suspect is a black male, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 150 to 160 pounds, with short hair. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with an orange shirt underneath, and blue jeans.

Anyone who knows anything about the incident is asked to call Madison Police, or call Madison Crime Stoppers at 266-6014.
