Woman Accused of Stealing More than $1,900 From Target Store

Posted Tuesday, February 7, 2102 --- 12:35 p.m.

Incident Report from the Madison Police Department:

Incident Type: Retail Theft

Incident Date: 02/05/2012 - 3:28 PM

Address: 4301 Lien Rd. (Target)

Arrested: Tamice L. Dunn, age 40, Madison
Ms. Dunn was tentatively charged with Retail Theft - 4 counts, and Bail Jumping - 4 counts.

Details: The legal woes for a Madison woman continue to mount as the MPD issues 4 more tentative charges of retail theft against Tamice L. Dunn, age 40. She is accused of stealing over $1,900 dollars worth of merchandise from the Lien Rd. Target store on four recent trips: January 10th, 13th, and 25th, and on February 1st. Stolen items include electronics and alcohol.

The MPD did not need to pick the suspect up as she was already in jail after Fitchburg Police arrested her on February 3rd for shoplifting at a Target store in their city. The Madison officer, issuing the latest counts, discovered the suspect also has open criminal cases in Waukesha County (2 separate cases), Iowa County, and in Grant County, which is why Ms. Dunn was also tentatively charged with 4 new counts of bail jumping. It's believed co-conspirators are involved in some of the Madison retail theft cases. The MPD is looking to identify them.

Well these comments are just an advertisement for future thieves, go to Target not Walmart to do your deeds...

If Target doesn't care, why should the general public?

My daughter worked at Target for a few years. Incredible what they allow people to get away with, even though they know they are being scammed. The latest was they told my daughter the check-out personnel could no longer hold up money to the light to see if it was genuine - a customer complained that it was disrespectful! Target just passes along the losses to us.

I worked there for almost five years, and they do allow people to get away with a lot. There was a woman known to steal jewelry, and I saw her doing it and alerted "Loss Prevention". They told me, her daughter is with her and we don't want her daughter to witness that, we will get her next time. Well apparently Target still doesn't mind people stealing from them.
