UPDATE Posted Thursday, May 15 --- 8:15am

MAUSTON, Wis. (AP) -- A Tomah man wants to withdraw his no contest plea to charges in the drug-related shooting deaths of two people in rural Juneau County.

The lawyer for 25-year-old John Tetting, Junior, filed a motion this week to vacate the plea deal, and a hearing on the motion has been scheduled June 2nd.

Special prosecutor Mike Luell says he will contest the motion.

Tetting pleaded no contest last month to two counts of being party to second-degree reckless homicide in the shootings of 31-year-old Joshua Alderman of La Crosse and 23-year-old Tabatha Nealy of Wisconsin Rapids.

Their bodies were found in March of last year in Nealy's car in the town of Finley north of Necedah.

Criminal complaints say Tetting drove 33-year-old David Turner of Tomah to the secluded spot to discuss a large-scale drug distribution conspiracy with Alderman, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids. That's when Turner allegedly shot the two.

Tetting's lawyer says he now contends he did not intentionally aid the crime because he did not know it would happen when he drove Turner that night.

Trial ordered in double homicide

MAUSTON, Wis. (AP) -- A man charged with shooting a couple found dead in a remote area of Juneau County has been ordered to stand trial.

A criminal complaint says David Turner went to the remote area to talk to Joshua Alderman about a large-scale drug distribution conspiracy last March. It says Turner shot and killed Alderman and Tabatha Nealy, who was also in the car.

John Tetting is also charged in the deaths. Prosecutors say he drove Turner to the location near Necedah.

Juneau County District Attorney Michael Luell has entered new evidence, including a cell phone battery believed to be from a pre-paid phone Turner used to call Alderman the night of the murder.

In court, Luell questioned the lead investigator in the case, who said both victims had been shot in the head.

Tomah man to stand trial in double murder

MAUSTON, Wis. (AP) -- A Tomah man will stand trial for a double murder in Juneau County.

John Tetting (Junior) waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was ordered to trial.

The judge also entered two 'not guilty' pleas for Tetting when he stood silent in court Wednesday.

Tetting is charged in the deaths of 31-year-old Joshua Alderman of La Crosse and his 23-year-old girlfriend Tabatha Nealy of Wisconsin Rapids.

A criminal complaint says Tetting drove an accomplice, David Turner, to a remote location in the town of Finley last March where Turner was to discuss a drug distribution conspiracy with Alderman. It says Turner then shot and killed Alderman and Nealy.

Tetting is charged with being a party to second-degree reckless homicide.

Another court appearance is scheduled November 14th.

to the person saying he doesnt deserve charges of murder or party to cuz he didnt know it was gonna happen... tell me then... did he run off as soon as it happened or did he stay and aid/abet? u see someone rob a gas station, do u run in and help then ask for lieniency cuz u didnt know that person was gonna rob the place? well u helped didnt u?. and to the person talking about anyone who uses drugs should be put to death? u must not have any relatives who have ever used drugs or u are completely self centered with no compasion for other human life... but anyway this is America and its a simple thing called cruel and unussaul punishment. also, murder is NOT a direct consequence of drugs its a direct consequence of what the government has made drugs into. murder over drugs is not any more common then murder over cheating spouses... so then i guess by your standards it should be punishable by death to fall in love too? go to the UAE if thats your mindset. people... think before you speak

sounds like this man is whining because "he didnt know"-poor him!! There is no way around it, drugs kill in one way or another. Maybe he should have had better friends, he deserves life in prison, no parole, enough is enough!!!

How about we just make the crime of using drugs punishable with the electric chair. Drugs kill, that is the real crime here. People would not experiment with drugs if they KNEW they were going to die for using. Murder is only a consequence of using drugs, it is like getting jitters from using Meth. Stiffen the consequence for using and you will eliminate the other problems.

Mr Tettings mistake was not going to the police and reporting the crime. Although he didn't pull the trigger, he's just as guilty as the person that did. I believe that if he had gone to the police as soon as he dropped off Mr Turner and reported this, he might have received a lighter sentence.

i dont think that he should get the same or worse charges than turner. he really may not of had any idea that the incident was going to occur. i dont think its fair that he is looked at so harshly. yes he was having something to do with a drug deal and should be punished for that. BUT MURDER. this person will never have a life or a family.
