Statewide Air Quality Alert

The entire state is now under an air quality health advisory. The Department of Natural Resources extended the warning Tuesday.

This is the second air quality warning issued by the DNR this winter. The first was in late December.

The advisory was put out because of the high concentration of soot in the air and the lack of strong winds.

The air quality index is at the orange level. It's considered unhealthy for people in sensitive groups, like children, the elderly, and those with asthma or heart and lung disease.

If you fall in one of these categories, health officials say you should avoid strenuous activities.
