Six women face a handful of citations after a UW student fell off their balcony.
The incident happened January 21 on the 900 block of College Court.
An 18-year-old male fell off a balcony while at a house party hosted by the women. They were all between the ages of 19 and 20. He suffered head injuries and alcohol appears to be factor in the accident.
NBC15 spoke to one of the women. She said they took safety precautions when they hosted the party, and blocked the exit to the balcony.
But the Madison police say that's not enough. Larry Kamkolz says, "These are the tragic things that can happen. We're fortunate this individual didn't die but he's still got significant injuries he's dealing with because of the problems that were presented inside the house."
The women are being cited for dispensing alcohol without a permit, providing alcohol to an underage person, and for the underage possession off licensed premises. They have hired a lawyer to fight the charges.
