MADISON, Wis. (AP) _ Governor Doyle today ordered all state
office buildings to be totally smoke-free.
The executive order gives state buildings 30 days to eliminate
all designated smoking areas.
Doyle says he's committed to ensuring the health and well-being
of state employees and all visitors to state buildings.
Doyle also called on the Legislature to ban smoking in all local
government buildings. About 30 percent of municipalities in the
state still allow smoking in public buildings.
Doyle's order says smoking and second-hand smoke kills 7,300
Wisconsin residents every year.
