The Dane County Regional airport is really starting to take off!
Two new retail and concession contracts will earn the County more than $6 million. That's an increase of more than $3 million over 10 years.
The new contracts will include expanded shopping and food and beverage options to travelers. This includes partnerships with local businesses like Ancora Coffee Roasters and the Great Dane Brewery.
"This is a tremendous addition to the significant improvements we have been making to our airport. We are very pleased and excited to be working with these companies and these people on these very ambitious and important goals," said Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk.
The contracts have already been approved by the County's Airport Commission. They are now subject to County Board approval and will need Falk's signature.
If approved, construction on the new shops will begin in the next few months and should be finished early next year.
