A drug bust leads to a chase and shooting in Beloit last night.
Beloit police and federal agents were working an investigation near Milwaukee Road and Cranston Road on the city's east side just before eight last night. A suspect got in his car and drove off, hitting two officers. One of those officers fired shots at the car.
Once the driver was caught, he was found to have two gunshot wounds. Cortland Shelly, 21, had surgery at UW Hospital.
He's still there tonight, under guard and in stable condition. When he gets out of the hospital, He'll be facing a whole number of felony charges.
