Triple Murder Suspect Takes Life

According to Dane county Sheriff Gary Hamblin, deputies discovered the body of Meng-Ju Wu at 12:55 A-M, hanging from what they believe is a shred of cloth, affixed to a sprinkler head in his jail cell.
Tomorrow, Wu was scheduled to stand trial for the deaths of three area men found shot to death in a Verona home, back in June of 2003.
Hamblin says deputies had checked Wu's cell less than one hour before the discovery, adding Wu was *NOT* on a suicide watch.
If an autopsy indicates Wu's death was suicide, it would mark the county jail's second suicide in the past nine months.
