Local Catholics persevere as they continue to celebrate the Holy Week.
Friday, hundreds gathered at Madison's Holy Redeemer Church for a Good Friday Celebration of the Lord's Passion.
Many of those in attendance previously worshipped at nearby Saint Raphael Cathedral, which was destroyed by fire March 14th.
During today's event a cross which had hung in Saint Raphael was venerated. It was recovered from the rubble by firefighters and given to Msgr. Paul Swain, who talked about his congregation rising from the ashes.
"We're going through kind of a good Friday experience," said Monsignor Paul Swain. "But we're looking forward to the day when we'll rise again in the sense that the parish will have a home."
Saint Raphael's Easter services are scheduled to take place Sunday morning at 9:30 at Holy Redeemer Church.
