Two Wisconsin lawmakers are making the trek to the Vatican for the Pope's funeral.

Congressman Mark Green was personally asked to attend Friday's services by Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert.

As a Catholic, Green says it's an honor to be selected, and says he will represent the people of Wisconsin.

"I think what I do is I carry their condolences their celebration of this extraordinary life with all the emotion that runs up inside all of us… Also I think we'll be celebrating what he has meant to families all across our state in Wisconsin. His great moral leadership his belief in the dignity of all men and all mankind," says Rep. Green.

Representative David Obey will also be at Friday's funeral. He met the Pope after leading a congressional delegation on a visit to the Vatican following a fact–finding trip to Poland.

NBC 15 will carry the Pope's funeral live early Friday morning. It's expected to begin at 3 a.m. central time.
