Police say the body of a woman was found in a chest freezer near La Crosse, frozen solid for more than four and a half years.
The body of the woman was found in a house in Campbell, near La Crosse. Philip Schuth was in La Crosse County Circuit court Monday afternoon.
He's the one who told police his mother was in the freezer. Police were called to the home this weekend after he shot and wounded a neighbor following an argument. After a 15–hour standoff ended, Schuth told police what they would find in the basement.
Now, he's facing charges of attempted homicide, and concealing a corpse.
The body of the woman in the freezer still hasn't been identified.
