Many of us can probably relate to Gayle Buske's perspective.
"I love working from home, I don't know that I could ever go back to work in a corporate office again."

Most notably, her husband, Jim.
"It's fun every day. It's different every day. You know, some days are frustrating, some days are awesome. We still get a charge out of, when we sign up a new client."

The couple are co-owners of the Lodi-based business known as Team Double-Click, a virtual staffing agency which pairs home-based workers with small and home-based businesses.

Gayle explains, "(It's) similar to what a bricks and mortar staffing agency would do but all of our workers work virtually. They work over the Internet, over computer, over telephones."

The business, which began in 2000, matches its independent contractors with client businesses based on the client's needs, and the contractor's skill set.
Gayle says, "We've seen a real growth in how many people are looking at it. Clients'll call, or potential clients I should say, will call and say 'This is exactly what I needed, but I didn't know I needed it until I saw you.'"

Jim says the businesses benefit by reducing overhead, as they acquire a flexible labor pool, which can ebb and flow based on the tide of work.
He adds, the independent contractors, which include folks with M.D.'s and Ph.D's...typically find a good fit, as well.
"It works out really well for them, because they get to do both, they get to contribute to the family income and they get to stay home and watch their kids."

Team Double-Click contractors are primarily utilized for short-term projects, but they also serve to perform ongoing general administrative tasks.
Clients receive a daily progress report.
Contractors do not pay a fee to become a part of Team Double-Click... those are picked up by clients, and they typically range from $25 to $35 per hour.
