There's a chance some convicted sex offenders were receiving Viagra at the expense of the taxpayers.
A recent report says a couple hundred sex offenders in New York state were taking Viagra paid for by Medicaid.
A federal ruling says that Medicaid had to pay for Viagra, but a recent ruling says sex offenders were never supposed to be included in that group.
Wisconsin Rep. Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) has asked the Department of Health and Family Services to find out whether the same thing is happening here.
"We don't want to make the same mistake that New York made by giving Viagra to sex offenders. It's simply bad policy and a danger and risk to our communities."
Suder says he would like to prevent all prisoners from receiving Viagra at taxpayers’ expense.
